Welcome
Welcome to the Wallace 7 blog.
We are actually 6 and half right now. My Husband, David, and I have four wonderfully active boys. Justin is 7, Ben is 5 1/2, Adam is 4, and Scott is 23 months. Our new addition is due May 4, 2009.
We are saving to buy a home, which is scary in this economy. David works as a Glazer and is going to school for an associates degree in criminal justice. He will be taking the police officer selection test after we buy a home, since if he changes occupations now we would have to wait 6 months to get a home loan. This is another challenge we are dealing with, because we will not know where the best place to buy a home will be for a new job as a police officer.
Justin is in 1st grade this year. He missed the deadline by 23 days, so he is one of the oldest in his class. But he is doing great. He is reading and doing math at a 2.6 grade level. The kids are on year-round school schedule. It worked well with Justin last year and it seems to be going well this year.
Ben is in kindergarten. He has the same teacher that Justin had last year. She is amazing. Ben has been a little behind, but he is improving. He no longer qualifies for speach therapy and he didnt qualify for extended day kindergarten (which is for the 40 kindergarteners that need the most help). He loves to go to school.
Adam is in Head-Start and one of the youngest and smallest in his class. But he is one of the smartest. He knows his abc's and numbers and can write his name, and he is even starting to sound out small two and three letter words.
Scott loves being alone with mommy. He as been going through the separation angsiety for the last 6 months. He crys the entire time he is in nursery and even wants mommy over Daddy, Granny, and Popa. He has always been a climber. At 12 months, he figured out how to climb into the kitchen sink and try to give himself a bath. And he is alway running and climbing on something. He is talking more and more each day.
We are all getting excited for Christmas. We got most of our christmas shopping done early, so it is just a count down to when we can put them all out under the christmas tree.
Merry Christmas Everyone
